Dr Seth Kirby

Seth specialises in sport management with a research focus on sporting event impacts, sports sustainability and ultra running. His research interests span the fields of sports, events, urban studies and the environment, with particular attention on the business and spatial impacts of regional sporting events right through to mega-sporting event regeneration, legacy planning, strategic leveraging and environmental sustainability.

Additionally, Seth is the Co-Founder of the Ultra Running Research Network (URRN) and is involved in research projects on competitive running events around a number of areas. This covers the role of customer experiences and loyalty retention strategies at ultra running events, and the social sustainability of runners participating in these running events.

Seth is the course leader for the BA (Hons) Business and Global Sports Management programme. He has taught and possesses expertise across various sport management areas, including sports marketing, event management and sports sustainability.
