Eddie Chan Hon Lam

Assistant Professor, Interior Design

Professional Biography

Eddie is an international member of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA) and was a Registered Architect in Hong Kong from 2014 to 2024. With more than a decade of professional and academic experience across Hong Kong and the United Kingdom, Eddie brings a wealth of knowledge in architectural practice, education, and collaborative design.

His portfolio spans high-density residential developments, bespoke private homes, institutional buildings, exhibitions, and public installations. From large-scale residential towers in Hong Kong to community-driven projects in London and Cambodia, his work is characterised by design quality, technical rigour, and a deep sensitivity to context, community, and culture.

Alongside professional practice, Eddie is deeply committed to education. At Regent’s University London, he leads and teaches design studio and communication modules across undergraduate levels, supporting students to develop advanced design thinking, technical competence, and reflective practice. He sees teaching as a space for mutual growth, encouraging curiosity, active listening, and student-led exploration. He has also taught and managed architecture programmes at HKU SPACE, Hong Kong, where he oversaw degree and diploma-level architectural studies, designed curricula, and curated student exhibitions.

Eddie’s commitment to design extends beyond academia and practice. He actively contributes to community initiatives such as the Little Architect Club in London, which inspires young learners to explore creativity and problem-solving through design. He has led and participated in design-and-build workshops across Asia and the UK, fostering inclusive and participatory approaches to architecture.

Grounded in the belief that architecture should serve people with clarity, integrity, and purpose, Eddie strives to produce work that is beautiful, responsible, and deeply human.
