Nuria Guasch

Associate Professor of Spanish, Course Leader Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE)

Professional Biography

Nuria is an Associate Professor in Spanish and specialises in language assessment, and in assessment and feedback in higher education. She joined Regent's University London in 2003 and teaches Spanish at a range of proficiency levels across Foundation, Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes.

At Regent's, Nuria is one of the University's Educational Developers and Course Leader for the Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE). She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), and her expertise lies in good practice in assessment and feedback.

Her earlier experience in higher education includes teaching Spanish for business, Spanish for general purposes and Spanish for medics at King's College London, London Business School, the University of Westminster and the Instituto Cervantes. At the Instituto Cervantes she also delivered teacher training sessions on assessment for languages.

Nuria was one of the pedagogical consultants for Bitácora 1. Nueva Edición, published by Difusión, and co-authored the teacher's manual for the same book.

Her current interests centre on what a closer understanding of human behaviour and interaction can contribute to teaching practice, and on how that understanding helps make learning meaningful to students. She is undertaking professional training in counselling.
