Overview
Sam joined Regent’s in September 2022 to lead Student Experience & Welfare, Learning Experience Design, Student Union and Library & Academic Skills whilst also working across the University to promote and enhance the student experience in all forms.
Sam has 10 years’ experience working in higher education. She has led the launch and delivery of a large suite of online courses for the creative industries, established several collaborative provision partnerships with a diverse range of industry and educational partners, and led new product development into new subjects and modes of delivery.
Prior to working in higher education, Sam spent 8 years working in leadership, continuous improvement and strategic initiatives for a large corporate in financial services with projects ranging from offshoring and process improvement, to restructures and acquisitions. She also worked 2 years in the private dental industry where she was awarded the accolade Outstanding Individual of the Year in the Private Dentistry Awards.
Chiming with Regent’s entrepreneurially minded students, Sam has also established and led three small businesses in recent years. This, coupled with her corporate and leadership background, has been the focus of guest lecturing and assessment she has undertaken.
Building on her Lean Six Sigma background, Sam is passionate about developing processes and systems that provide service excellence to students whilst capitalising and amplifying the talents of colleagues, eliminating unnecessary steps that don’t serve our staff or students. She has an agile, data-driven and student-first mindset that is shaping the future of student support and student experience at Regent’s.
Sam has a Master’s in Management from Coventry University and Project Management certification from George Washington University.
