Egbert von Frankenberg

Egbert von Frankenberg

'Regent’s provided me with the knowledge and expertise to turn my business ideas into reality.'

Having 'always been entrepreneurial', it was only natural that Egbert von Frankenberg wrote a business plan as part of his scholarship application in 2005.

Though having grown up in Germany, Egbert spent a year on student exchange in Alaska, and was fluent in both German and English. With the experience of a US education already under his belt, he felt the prospect of Regent’s even more appealing.

It wasn’t, however, just the formal learning his degree in International Business with Japanese provided him. He also built a network of friends from all over the world. Recalling his year abroad in Tokyo, he notes that the 'culture, excitement and experience' were some of the most valuable things he took from his degree. He also comments that 'at Regent's, as well as being an individual, you're also a part of a small, international family.'

It was the international experience and network he picked up at Regent's that started Egbert on his journey. His first job after graduating was working for a fellow alumnus in Qatar and then Jamaica. During his stay in the Caribbean, he met his future wife and Jamaica is where he still lives today, as the Founder and CEO of Knightfox App Design. His business is doing so well in fact, that he's soon planning to expand into London – a move which Egbert is making alongside a Regent’s alumnus business partner.

Reflecting on his time at Regent’s, and his international journey, Egbert notes that 'embracing new cultures from a young age is very character building and is what made my personality and business what it is now.'

To those considering Regent’s, he believes 'you couldn't make a better decision. Regent's offers a close knit community, high quality teaching, social and travel opportunities, and you make friends and connections for life.'
