Play, creativity and transitional space: the theories of D. W. Winnicott in the work of Linda Karshan
Join American artist Linda Karshan for a thought-provoking talk exploring how D. W. Winnicott’s theories of play, creativity and transitional space have shaped her drawing, printmaking and performance-based practice. Drawing on her background in psychoanalysis and humanistic psychology, Linda will trace the evolution of her work and her distinctive embodied creative process, with a particular focus on the exceptional period of presence she experienced during COVID-19. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at The British Museum, The Courtauld Gallery and The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
