Juliette Streichenberger, President of EMEA & CGAG at Canada Goose, said: "We are excited to award Gracey Owusu-Agyemang with Canada Goose's HUMANATURE Award for Responsible Design.

Gracey's commitment to socio-ecological sustainable practices and her unique, innovative creativity were truly impressive, and demonstrated a natural alignment with our purpose to keep the planet cold and the people on it warm.

It is an honour for us to work with Central Saint Martins to help develop such exceptional talent who have unparalleled potential to propel the fashion and design industry forward."

Gracey Owusu Agyemang’s collection SONWÊRELD is the product of two brands, Vallèe Noire, a luxury African agriculture-focused brand, and DIJÁGO Studios, a luxury Afro-Asian brand, co-founded with Khudija Zaib. Working closely with Khudija, the multidisciplinary designer is on a mission to redefine luxury through agriculture, while regenerating the soil and restoring the earth. Owusu-Agyemang taps into her Western and South African roots, using Afrofuturism to inform her work.

Gracey said: "We are both happy to see this collection, Sonwêreld and community of creatives receive the prestigious recognition it deserves! Cheers to the Future of Vallèe Noire and DIJÁGO Studios."

Gracey's journey as a Regent's alumna

Since graduating from Regent's, Gracey has been inundated with successes. In 2022, she launched fashion label DIJÁGO with fellow Regent's alumna Khudija Zaib.

In 2023, Khudija and Grace designed a bespoke gown for actress Sarah Niles (Ted Lasso, I May Destroy You), which she wore to the British Vogue and Tiffany & Co Celebrate Fashion & Film party.

This latest award comes after a busy start to 2024 for Gracey including participating in a project with Regent's and the HOFF sneaker brand

Nine students at Regent's were invited to share their vision for the iconic CITY silhouette as part of our partnership celebrating the launch of HOFF’s new Regent Street store.

Gracey joined an expert panel of judges from across the fashion industry – including Louis Roe, Remy Farrell and Aberto Giménez – who decided the winner of the competition.

Congratulations to Grace and Khudija on their accomplishments – we can't wait to see what they do next.
