Regent’s University London is pleased to announce that, as part of an evolved academic structure, three new Heads of School will join the University in autumn 2025:
Professor Gyles Lingwood - Head of School of Arts and Culture
Professor Marco Mongiello - Head of School of Business
Professor Oliver Robinson - Head of School of Psychotherapy and Psychology
Regent’s evolved academic structure is comprised of schools and programmes; combining related programme areas to ensure that we are agile and responsive to an ever-evolving Higher Education sector, that we continue to deliver and drive teaching excellence across our course portfolio, and that we continue to enhance our student experience.
About Professor Gyles Lingwood, Head of School of Arts and Culture
Professor Gyles Lingwood will join Regent’s as the Head of School of Arts and Culture on 1 October 2025.
Professor Gyles Lingwood has a wealth of industry and Higher Education experience, and he joins Regent’s from the University of Lincoln where he was Professor of Business Creativity and Director of Education & Students for the College of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities. Prior to working in Higher Education, Gyles was a Creative for a number of high-profile London advertising and design companies, where his work won awards including D&AD, British Interactive Media Association and US Creativity.
On joining Regent’s, Gyles said: ‘I’m passionate about and dedicated to arts, culture and creative disciplines, both for their ability to shape culture and society and for their role in tackling complex global challenges, and I’m excited to be joining Regent’s new School of Arts and Culture. It’s a wonderful opportunity to lead a dynamic and diverse academic community, nurture its talent and enable colleagues and students to flourish. I am looking forward to developing the new School’s influence and reputation as a beacon of excellence in the sector.’
About Professor Marco Mongiello, Head of School of Business
Professor Marco Mongiello will join Regent’s as the Head of School of Business on 29 September 2025.
Professor Marco Mongiello has extensive experience in Higher Education. Prior to joining Regent’s, he has led world-ranked MSc and MBA programmes, departments and faculties at Imperial College Business School, The University of Law, University of Surrey and Southampton Solent University.
Marco’s expertise is in shaping students’ learning experiences around what is relevant to their careers and aspirations, championing the impact on students' lives as the ultimate goal of their chosen programme of study and overall academic experience.
Marco is also a pioneer of AI for education and has played a role in shaping global education policies alongside his academic leadership roles.
Marco said: ‘Regent’s business education is one of the University’s great strengths. I am thrilled to have been entrusted to lead the School of Business and to have the opportunity to work with its world-class team to serve our students and contribute to the University’s continuous growth as we bring the School from strength to strength.’
About Professor Dr. Oliver Robinson, Head of School of Psychotherapy and Psychology
Professor Dr. Oliver Robinson will join Regent’s as Head of School of Psychotherapy and Psychology on 17 November 2025.
Prior to joining Regent’s, Professor Dr. Oliver Robinson led the Psychology and Counselling portfolio at the University of Greenwich for six years where he was responsible for overseeing and navigating a period of sustained growth and internationalisation.
Oliver is an expert in the psychology of adult development and in qualitative methods, and his book Development through Adulthood is used by students around the world. He is also President of the European Society for Research in Adult Development.
On his new role as Head of School of Psychotherapy and Psychology, Oliver said: ‘I am passionate about striving for teaching excellence and providing students with a transformative developmental experience throughout their university journey. I am thrilled that Regent’s shares this commitment and that it is embedded in the University’s work as a key strategic focus, and I am delighted to be joining the Psychotherapy and Psychology team.’
As Heads of School, Professor Lingwood, Professor Mongiello and Professor Dr. Robinson will be responsible to the Provost for the strategic growth, teaching quality and Profit and Loss of their areas.
