Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with El Oued University in Algeria

Regent's expands global partnerships with El Oued University

On Tuesday 28 July 2026, Regent's University London signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with El Oued University in Algeria, marking the start of a new strategic partnership that will strengthen collaboration between the two universities.

The signing ceremony was attended by His Excellency Mr Nourredine Yazid, Ambassador of Algeria to the United Kingdom, Mr. Omar Farhati, Rector of El Oued University, and Professor Geoff Smith, Vice-Chancellor & CEO of Regent's University London, alongside colleagues from both institutions.

The agreement builds on several years of collaboration, centered on supporting the development of English language skills among the University's academics and researchers. Supporting Algeria's broader ambition to increase the use of English in higher education, Regent's will again welcome multiple cohorts of El Oued University academics and researchers this summer for language training, enabling them to enhance their teaching, research and international engagement.

The agreement reflects Regent's commitment to building meaningful global partnerships that expand access to education, foster academic excellence, and help both students and academics thrive in an increasingly connected world.
