Professional Biography

Cecile is a lecturer in Law and Course Leader for BA International Relations at Regent’s University London, where she plays a key role in shaping the academic experience of students and supports the MA International Relations. 

Cecile delivers modules in Business Law, International Law, and Human Rights, and supervises both undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations. 

In addition to 20 years' experience in education and human rights law practice, her research focuses on the intersection of law, education, and social justice, with an emerging emphasis on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in these areas.

Research Interests

Cecile is currently studying a PhD on the relationship between the law and policy of education and the education experience of nomadic pastoralist communities in Nigeria.

Her research interests centre on education, law, and social justice, with a particular focus on how historical legacies, policy frameworks, and governance structures shape access to education. 

Cecile's current research looks at the link between colonial legacies and education for marginalised communities. She is also pursing research on how students use artificial intelligence and technology in education.

Research Supervision

Cecile supervises various undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations in law, international law, and international relations.

Teaching and Course Development

Cecile has enhanced and developed several modules for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including business law, international business law, international law, crime and society, criminal justice, criminal law, human rights, media and the law, law and the luxury environment.

She has helped develop the Masters in Luxury Brand Management, the Masters and Undergraduate courses on International Relations, and the newly validated undergraduate, LLB in Law .

She has conducted a seminar for academics on how to incorporate the use of AI in the design of assessments.
