If you're interested in applying for our study abroad and exchange programme, you should first contact your home institution. Your academic advisor or the international office at your home university will be able to confirm your eligibility to study abroad. Also, they will confirm if you must apply internally before you can be nominated to apply to Regent’s. If you are currently studying at one of Regent’s partner universities, you will first need to be nominated by your home university; once your nomination is approved by Regent’s, you will then receive instructions on how to apply directly from our office.

You can check our list of partner institutions. Alternatively, please check with the international office at your home institution. They should be your first point of contact to start the application process. 

Yes, you can. If you are currently studying at a higher education institution outside of Regent's partnership network or if you are have completed your high school studies and want to join Regent’s during your gap year, you can come to us as an independent study abroad student or so-called free-mover. Please contact the Inbound Team and specify which institution you are currently studying at, your level of study and which term you would like to apply for so we can give you as much information as possible.

We usually open applications at least five months prior to the start of each programme.  

For study abroad students, the application deadline for the autumn term tends to be in August and for the spring term it tends to be in December. 

The application deadline for the six-week summer programme is usually in February and the fashion summer programme with internship is earlier, in January. 

Please note that the above deadlines are subject to change.

No, there is no application fee to apply for our study abroad and exchange programme. 

Please contact your home university or your agent to request the cost of your programme. Discounts may apply for students applying via our partnership network.   

Tuition fees will not apply for students applying via the exchange programme. 

If you are not studying at one of our partner institutions and want to apply as an independent free-mover please email us at [email protected] noting which institution you are currently studying at, your level of study and which term you would like to apply for. We will send you all the relevant information about our programme, including tuition fees. 

Yes, if you are applying for our fee-paying programme and you are paying Regent’s directly, you will be required to pay a deposit at the time of acceptance in order to secure your place. 

If your home university is paying on your behalf, we will liaise directly with your home university to arrange this. 

No deposit applies for students coming via the exchange programme.

Regent’s University London offers excellent and well-rounded degree programmes, and the vast majority of the courses taught are open to study abroad students.

You will be able to choose classes from our three schools: the School of Arts and Culture, the School of Business and the School of Psychotherapy and Psychology.

Credits for modules are given in CATS and ECTS.  

CATS is the Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme used by UK Universities.  

The ECTS grading scale is a grading system defined in the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) framework by the European Commission.  

Your transcript will show both grading systems alongside the mark awarded for each module.  

It is your responsibility to check with your home university how your credits will transfer to your home degree. 

Term dates vary according to your level of study (undergraduate or postgraduate) and the chosen subject area. View academic calendars. 

Every student has a different budget and their expenses depend on personal circumstances and lifestyle. The perceived cost of living and studying in London is a concern for many students. However, it is possible to live affordably in the capital by taking advantage of reduced-price services and facilities on campus and beyond. This includes student discounts and concessions in shops, restaurants and bars, and by avoiding touristy areas of the city.

We offer pre-sessional English language courses. These are ideal if you would like to improve your English in preparation for your time at Regent’s. During the term, you can also make use of credit bearing support classes available to all students.

Yes, our ASK team can help you with anything you’re worried about. Staff in the International Partnerships Office have studied abroad themselves and can talk to you about your concerns too. Please let us know how we can help by emailing [email protected].

Regent’s offers on-campus accommodation in Reid Hall.

You will receive an offer letter within two weeks of submitting your application, provided all documents have been received by the deadline. To accept your unconditional offer, you must check that all information is correct, read and accept the Terms and Conditions here and agreeing to comply with the University’s Academic Regulations.  

If your tuition fee is not covered by your home university and you are paying us directly, you will also be required to pay a non-refundable deposit at the time of acceptance.

Please note that your offer letter cannot be used for immigration purposes.

Rules and regulations set by the UK Government change regularly and it is important that you check these. It is your responsibility to ensure that you comply with these regulations before entering the UK. You must also inform yourself about the rules if you wish to travel further afield than the UK.  

You can check what type of visa you need on the UK government website. Check if you need a visa.

In order to apply for a Student Visa you will need a CAS number. Regent’s Visa and Compliance Team can only issue a CAS number to students staying for more than 6 months or students staying for less than 6 months but whom are undertaking work experience via IAE503 or SAI501 modules.

A copy of your provisional timetable will be available roughly one week before welcome week provided you have completed your online enrolment and downloaded the Regent's app. If you are studying at one of our partner institutions, please ensure your timetable includes modules that have been validated by your academic advisor at your home university and that you have enough credits. 

If you are an independent free-mover, the timetable will be available as per the above timeline

Please note that timetables may still undergo changes into the first few weeks of teaching.

Timetable changes may be possible and will be considered on a case-by-case basis. All timetable change requests must be requested by your home institution and must be supported by a valid academic reason. Preferential changes will not be accepted and therefore it's important you choose the correct modules when you submit your application, as part of the application process.

Although we don’t ask for proof of insurance to issue your acceptance letter, we do recommend you are properly insured anytime you travel or study abroad. Enquire with your home institution’s study abroad office about options for healthcare before you travel to the UK. If you have private health insurance, call them to make sure you are covered while abroad – you may have to purchase an additional policy to cover you while you're out of the country.  

If you do not have private health insurance, please ensure that you take out private health, and ensure this provides more than just emergency cover.

Regent’s also helps students find rooms in off-campus housing or with private landlords and homestays. All queries and applications should go to the Accommodation office.  

The easiest and cheapest way to get around London is by using an Oyster Card.

You can purchase an Oyster Card at any station or you can order one online to be delivered to you (purchase and delivery charges apply). Before you return home, you can hand it back in to reclaim your deposit. Oyster Cards work on a 'pay as you go' basis, but you may also purchase a daily, weekly or monthly travel plan.  

If you travel more frequently and across different zones, it may be worth getting a Student Oyster Card which gives you discounts on your travel. Before applying for your 18+ Oyster photo card, ensure that this will be the cheapest option for you, and check the eligibility criteria carefully. For example, you must be enrolled on a full-time course made up of at least 15 tuition-led and/or structured learning hours a week (with attendance at scheduled classes being Monday to Friday only and not including evening classes) over a minimum of 14 weeks on the same course.

Yes, you do. You will receive an email asking you to complete your enrolment online approximately four weeks prior to your arrival. If you do not complete this, it will delay your participation in welcome week activities.  

Yes, Regent’s University London and the Student Union schedules and holds various activities throughout the term.

Yes, welcome week is compulsory to attend. During this week you will get your passport and visa (if applicable) checked to ensure you can fully register to study with us.

We will also give you important academic information you will need while studying here, as well as general tips about London and adapting to a new culture.

There will be many activities organised by the Student Union and Student services team to make your time here as enjoyable as possible and to give you the opportunity to meet and mingle with other students. 

Most incoming exchange and study abroad students will need to have an arrival and departure certificate, and a learning agreement signed by Regent’s.  

If you have a document that requires our signature and university stamp, please email [email protected] and we will return a signed stamped copy to you.

Please note that learning agreements can only be signed after the start of term, once all timetables have been finalised. 

Departure certificates can only be signed upon completion of your time at Regent’s.

You may use your official acceptance letter as a student status letter. You can also request a Student Status Letter from the ASK Centre (located on the Acland Ground floor) in-person or by emailing [email protected]. 

Attendance is compulsory and a minimum overall attendance of 75% is required. 

Classes can be scheduled any time during the core teaching week (Monday to Friday, 9 am to 7 pm). Students are expected to attend all their modules activities on their assigned days and times. 

Attendance is compulsory and is monitored closely with an electronic ‘tap-in’ recording system. This enables us to ensure students are fully engaged with their academic activities and identify those who may need guidance and support.

Classes will take place in Regent’s University London’s main campus inside the beautiful Regent’s Park.

Students are assessed through group work, class participation, presentations, live briefs and more, depending on each individual module. You can review this information in the module outline found within the module availability guides. Additionally, you will be given more information on the module assessment on your first day of class and more details can also be found in Blackboard (Regent’s online virtual learning platform). 

Provisional grades will be published on e:vision (Regent’s student portal) after all exams have been completed. 

Official grades will be published after all exam boards and marks are confirmed; this is roughly 2 months after the end of the exams period.

Official transcripts will then be issued and sent as follows: 

• If you are from one of Regent’s Partnership Network institutions a digital copy will be sent to your home institution by email.
• If you have applied as a free-mover a digital copy will be sent to you by email.

Departure certificates can be signed upon completion of your time at Regent’s. 

If you have a document that requires our signature and university stamp, you can send your certificate to [email protected] and we will return a signed and stamped copy to you as soon as possible.
