We know that plans change, but whether you’re exploring new options, changing direction or applying later in the cycle, Clearing can help you find the right course and start your next chapter in London as soon as possible.

We still have places available on all courses for Autumn 2026 entry through Clearing – register your interest.

What is Clearing?

Clearing gives you another opportunity to secure a university place if your plans change, or you haven't yet accepted an offer. You're able to apply through Clearing if you:

  • Have already applied to university through UCAS
  • Don't have the grades you need for your first or second choice university
  • Want to study at Regent’s in 2026, but don't currently hold an offer
  • Want to change from your original choice of course or university

Every year, thousands of students successfully secure university places through Clearing. Whether your results were unexpected, you changed your mind about where to study, or you’re applying later in the cycle, we’re here to help you explore your options with confidence. And if you haven’t achieved the grades you’d hoped for, don’t worry. We take into consideration your experience and potential, not only your qualifications. Key dates for 2026

Courses can fill quickly during Clearing, so applying early gives you the best chance of securing your preferred course. Here are some important dates to keep in mind:

  • 2 July: Clearing opens
  • 6 July: IB results day
  • 4 August: SQA results day
  • 13 August: A-level results day (high volume of Clearing activity)

How to apply through Clearing

Simply follow these steps:

  1. Check your status: log into your UCAS Hub to see if you’re eligible. Your Clearing number will appear there if you are
  2. Research available courses: if you’re considering Regent’s, you can apply directly through our website
  3. Contact us: get in touch by calling 020 7487 7625, emailing [email protected] or completing our clearing form
  4. Receive an informal offer: we aim to review your application and provide a decision within 24 hours
  5. Add Regent's as your Clearing choice on the UCAS Hub: once you’ve received an informal offer and would like to accept it, add Regent’s as your Clearing choice from 2 July. We can then confirm your place

Tips for success in Clearing

  • Be prepared with your UCAS ID, Clearing number, qualifications and contact details
  • Research universities and courses ahead of time
  • Stay flexible with your options, you might discover new subjects to explore
  • Call as early as possible on results day – phone lines can get very busy
  • Keep a notepad and pen handy to jot down details from your conversations

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

What is UCAS Clearing?
Clearing is a process that allows students to apply for university courses if they don’t hold any offers or want to apply after 30 June.

When does Clearing open?
Clearing opens on 2 July 2026.

What does 'decline my place' mean?
This allows you to release yourself from your current firm choice on your UCAS Hub, so you can apply for a different course or university through Clearing. Here, changing a course is simple. Just contact us on [email protected].

What is Clearing Plus?
Clearing Plus is a tool on UCAS Hub that recommends courses you may be interested in, based on your original application.

What’s an informal offer?
An informal offer is when a university offers you a place in Clearing (usually by phone or email), before you formally add it to your UCAS Hub.

Can you use Clearing if you’ve already accepted an offer?
Yes, you can use 'decline my place' if you’ve already accepted an offer and want to apply elsewhere through Clearing.

How do you add a Clearing choice?
Once you have an informal offer, you should add that course as your Clearing choice in your UCAS Hub within 48 hours. This is how you confirm your place.

Can international students use Clearing?
Yes, international students can also apply for places through Clearing.

Will accommodation still be available during Clearing?
Accommodation could still be available, but places may be limited. Check with each university.

What if I haven’t applied through UCAS yet?
You can still apply through Clearing. You’ll first need to complete a UCAS application and then follow the Clearing process.

Can I apply directly instead?

If you haven’t applied via UCAS but would still like to join us, you can apply directly at any time. Please ensure you have these documents to hand: 

  • A copy of your passport's photo ID page 
  • Proof of your academic qualifications or pending grades 
  • Proof of your English language proficiency
