About the event

The luxury industry is in a moment of change. In just one month, twelve major houses unveiled collections from twelve new creative directors, while Kering welcomed new leadership under Luca de Meo, formerly of Renault. Headlines such as the FT’s ‘Why the world fell out of love with luxury?’ would have seemed unthinkable only 18 months ago.

And yet, despite the turbulence, the €1.48 trillion global luxury sector remains remarkably resilient. In this talk, Helen unpacks the numbers and explores customer trends shaping the future. She’ll share why, beyond the headlines, the outlook for luxury is every bit as bright as its storied past.

About Helen

Helen Brocklebank is Chief Executive of Walpole, the official body for British luxury, representing 250 leading brands contributing £81bn to the UK economy. Since 2017, she has leveraged her extensive sector expertise to spearhead initiatives like the British Luxury Sustainability Manifesto (2020) and developed sector-building programmes like Brands of Tomorrow.

Recognising the sector's pivotal role, she commissioned a Bain study on post-Covid high-end tourism recovery and actively campaigns in Westminster and Brussels to protect the luxury industry.

A board member of the European Cultural and Creative Industries Alliance, she also serves on the Department for Business and Trade’s advisory group for manufactured and consumer goods.  Helen’s prior career was in publishing, with roles at Harper’s Bazaar, Esquire, and Elle.
