Emily in Paris x Camille Louise

Camille Louise x Emily in Paris: Regent’s alumna has jewellery collection featured in Netflix series

Regent’s alumna Camille Merré has had pieces from her jewellery Maison Camille Louise featured in the fourth season of Netflix’s 'Emily in Paris' (Part One released 15 August and Part Two released 12 September 2024).

We spoke to Camille, an MA Management (Marketing) graduate, to learn more about how the collaboration between Camille Louise and Netflix came about - from selecting the perfect pieces to adorn the show’s actors to how she felt Emily in Paris complemented the Maison’s values and vision.

How did you get involved with working with Netflix on 'Emily in Paris'?

The collaboration came about organically through some of my industry connections. Netflix’s costume designer Marilyn Fitoussi and her team who were working on 'Emily in Paris' received our jewellery lookbook and selected pieces that they felt aligned with the bold, fashion-forward style of the characters in show including for Emily Cooper (played by Lily Collins) and Mindy Chen (played by Ashley Park), among others.

Additionally, Netflix are expanding 'Emily in Paris' into gaming, something that aligns with our vision for the future of jewellery — offering pieces both direct-to-consumer and direct-to-avatar. It was a natural match!

Why did you feel that 'Emily in Paris' was a good fit for showcasing your work and brand? What appealed to you about the show and working with its team?

'Emily in Paris' embodies style, elegance, and a cosmopolitan lifestyle — values that resonate deeply with the Camille Louise Maison. I think Parisian chic and timeless design are at the heart of our jewellery; it is crafted with the finest coloured gemstones and diamonds, embodying Swiss quality and the highest standards of craftsmanship, traceability and it has sustainability at the core.

The attention to detail in the show’s costumes also mirrors the same care we put into our pieces. As a mother (Aline d'Ambricourt)-daughter-led Maison that was born in Paris, it felt like a natural fit and the show’s iconic locations and fashion-centric storyline provided the perfect stage to help showcase our brand.

Do you have any advice for Regent’s graduates who might be interested in working with film or TV companies as a way of showcasing their brand?

Networking is key. This was something I drew on in my Regent’s Student Union Presidential University campaign – the principle that “your network is your net-worth.” Building strong relationships with costume designers, stylists, public relations teams, and other creatives in the industry can lead to unique opportunities.

Often, these opportunities arise when your Maison aligns with the needs of the film or TV productions, so it’s crucial to demonstrate how your Maison adds value to a project while remaining adaptable. For instance, during our collaboration, we were asked to propose additional pieces as episodes and looks evolved. Being prepared, flexible, and responsive can help to open doors and maximize visibility.
