The Dr Nicholas Bowen Award for Excellence was established in 2017, at the wish of Dr Nicholas Bowen. Dr Bowen was instrumental in the success of international business at Regent’s from 1980 to 2012. He was awarded an Honorary Senior Fellowship in 2017, which he was honoured to accept. He was also President of the Chartered Institute of Linguists from 2012 until his death, having worked with the institute for more than 25 years.
This year's recipients are Maryia Mahilnaya, BA (Hons) International Business, and Pietro Muratori, BA (Hons) Business & Finance, who received their awards on Tuesday 21 April at an intimate ceremony on campus.
Professor Vincent Ong, Associate Head of School of Business said: 'I'm delighted to spotlight Maryia and Pietro as this year's recipients of the Dr Nicolas Bowen Award for Excellence. It is a true testament to their academic dedication and collaborative spirit as members of the Regent's School of Business community, as well as to the learning and teaching experience we offer.'
Maryia said: 'Receiving this award is only the beginning. Hopefully in a few years, I will come back to Regent’s not just as a graduate, but as a successful alumina - sharing my experience and inspiring students.'
Pietro said: 'My experience at Regent’s has been genuinely transformative. It has not only strengthened me academically and professionally, but also taught me the importance of using ambition in a way that creates value for others.'
