Regent’s University London’s Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Fary Cachelin was recently invited to speak at the Times Higher Education Liberal Arts Summit, ‘Liberal arts and innovation in the digital age’, at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
This event brought together leading voices from the higher education sector to interrogate the future of the liberal arts in an increasingly digital world, and how to develop the skills critical for the next generation of leaders.
Regent’s Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Fary Cachelin was one of four speakers on a panel which explored Career advancement and the Liberal Arts edge. She appeared alongside speakers including Warwick University’s Head of Liberal Arts and the American Association of Colleges and Universities’ Vice President of Research and Senior Advisor to the President.
In light of a decline in enrolments for liberal arts degrees in recent years, the panel discussed ways in which liberal arts course providers can amplify and demonstrate the critical need for these courses in addressing employment challenges.
