Patricia Merlin

Patricia Merlin joined Regent's in 2003. Since then she has been teaching French for business to undergraduate and postgraduate students, and has been involved in the design of the course syllabus.

Olga Helly

Olga Helly is a lecturer in Russian with extensive experience in teaching Russian as a foreign language at all levels, both to individuals and groups.

Toshihiko Kitagawa

Toshihiko Kitagawa was born in Tokyo and grew up in Toyama, Japan. He has taught Japanese and related subjects for degree programmes at several institutions in different parts of the world.

Yi Yang

Yi Yang has been teaching Chinese at higher education in China and UK over the past ten years. The courses Yi has taught cover a wide range of levels and types with students of different cultural backgrounds, different age groups, and different walks of life.

‘Uncertainty was what propelled me forward’ – alumna director Isabelle Sieb returns as Visiting Professor

Regent’s was proud to welcome back alumna Isabelle Sieb, director of BAFTA and Emmy-nominated dramas including Vigil, The Devil’s Hour, and the recent Netflix thriller Hostage, as the first Visiting Professor speaker of the academic year.

Congratulations to alumna Isabelle Sieb (BA (Hons) Screenwriting and Producing, 2013), now recognised as one of the UK’s most exciting directing talents.

Isabelle is a BAFTA and RTS award-nominated director, with credits spanning some of the biggest shows on British television including BBC’s Shetland, Sky’s The Athena, Amazon Prime’s The Devil’s Hour, and the critically acclaimed BBC drama Vigil.

Two of Regent’s staff members, and alumni, nominated for 2025 Oscar consideration

Luis Garcia, a Regent’s Screenwriting and Producing alumnus and current Media Technical Demonstrator, is an Associate Producer on the Irish language film Kneecap, nominated by Ireland for the international feature film category at the 2025 Academy Awards. In addition, Regent’s Screenwriting and Producing lecturer Line Langebek is a writer for the Danish feature film The Girl With the Needle, which has also been nominated for the same category by Denmark.
