This programme is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). If you join the Institute as a student member and complete the mapped modules, you will receive a Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice on completion of your degree.

This degree will equip you with the specialist knowledge and skills to pursue a career in fields such as international luxury brand management, marketing, communications and retail.
There are two entry points a year in January and September. If you begin your studies in September, it will take approximately 12 months to complete the programme. If you start in January, it will take approximately 16 months.
You will take five core modules, plus two electives of your choice. You will also complete a final project.
Terms 1 and 2 (Core modules)
|Financial Analysis for Managers||
The aims of the module are to:
• Enable students to understand the uses and limitations of the different elements of statutory reporting.
• Apply this knowledge to company valuation, equity investment and lending decisions.
• Enable students, in conjunction with other techniques, to achieve optimal financing.
|Law and the Luxury Environment||This module aims to offer a thorough grounding in the disciplines related to the legal aspects of luxury management and their interaction with the contextual forces affecting luxury companies. It will provide you with useful knowledge to develop management strategies that prevent legal problems.|
|Luxury Brands and Creativity||Creativity lies at the very heart of global luxury brands, as does innovation and craftsmanship. Understanding the challenges and specificities of creativity and design is therefore essential to operate successfully in the global luxury industry. Luxury Brands and Creativity involves finding the synergy between business goals and creativity. This module will also focus on the conditions necessary for innovation to emerge and how to manage the tension between goal-oriented business and open-ended creative processes.|
|Luxury Marketing Management||This module aims to develop your knowledge and skills in core marketing concepts and the environmental and organisational factors that shape marketing decisions. It examines the role of marketing decisions in a variety of settings with a particular focus on the luxury market. This module provides the knowledge and conceptual framework required to create a marketing plan for a luxury organisation. In this process, you will conduct extensive research, critically analyse, plan, implement, and control programs designed to create, build, and maintain mutually beneficial exchanges with target markets for the purpose of achieving organisational objectives.|
|Research Methods||Managers in organisations often need to rely on research-based information to make decisions. In order to make proper use of such material and to ensure that any decisions made on the basis of research findings are soundly based, it is necessary to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the methods and techniques used to collect and analyse such information. There is a wide range of possible approaches to conducting research or consultancy studies which vary in terms of the kinds of questions they seek to answer. The methods used to provide answers are explored in this module.|
|Strategic Management of a Luxury Business||This module will support your exploration of the features of highly effective and innovative practices in managing a luxury business in detail and crucially discover how they can be effectively implemented. It will focus closely on the approach to talent management within the luxury market enabling you to engage with people-change issues and critically analyse the competencies required for the coming generation of luxury leaders.The module also aims to provide an insight into luxury management through a strategic approach, analysing the latest trends, looking at multicultural and holistic perspectives. These will be designed to create challenges to the established rules of generic business management and to assess how these rules are inherently different in the management of luxury.|
In addition, you will choose two of the following elective modules.
|Entrepreneurship and Luxury||This module combines ideas and concepts from the fields of Entrepreneurship and Innovation to create a learning environment that allows you to deconstruct taken-for- granted tools, theories and practices by thinking-out of the box to create proactive solutions to contemporary business problems.This as an elective module that will enable you to use knowledge and skills acquired from other modules to identify and develop innovative entrepreneurial business solutions in luxury brands.|
|Historical and Contemporary Perspectives in Luxury||This module provides a platform to identify, engage with and critically reflect upon a number of areas within the luxury sector. You will look at the significance of luxury within the cultural fabrication of the sensual and prestigious, as well as the importance of luxury as a value in society’s definition versus an individual’s process of identity construction. You will learn how to develop a conceptual framework for defining and questioning what luxury is, and its implications for brand management.|
|Curating and Creation in Luxury||This module provides an in-depth and balanced understanding of the economic, regulatory and legal aspects of investing in the art and collectibles’ markets. The persona of the artistic creator is examined in order to understand how their aesthetic ideology is diffused and maintained around the luxury brand. A key focus of the module is to use a curatorial approach to documenting and presenting a brand’s creative intellect and consciousness enacted throughout the company’s activities, both internal and external. You will build on the understanding of the designer’s creative process by investigating the similarities and differences between art and design to explain how luxury design is absorbed into the artistic and cultural canon.|
|Luxury Digital Marketing and Analytics||This module gives you a practical understanding of the key elements of digital marketing communications with a particular focus on mobile marketing, email marketing, display and native advertising and affiliate marketing. It also applies this within the luxury industry so that brand intelligence, strategic skill and business vision can be sustained through value creation online as well as offline. You will understand how and when each element can most effectively be used and for what kind of marketing objectives each is suited. This will be a practical, hands on module in which you will learn by doing, using each of the tools discussed themselves. The module covers the setting up of campaigns as well as how the results of each campaign element can be monitored and assessed using appropriate analytics tools.|
|Luxury Goods||In this module, you will critically analyse the global luxury goods industry, its different sectors, and the key players. You will also analyse the strategic development of products, brands, and synergies in relation with mature and growing markets. You will learn how to devise and implement an innovative strategic vision and brand principles for a luxury product that encompasses all the aspects explored during the course.|
|Luxury Services||This module will enable you to understand, critically evaluate and apply conceptual frameworks and theory to the domain of global luxury services and appreciate the more refined areas of luxury service. You will develop your understanding of leadership effectiveness and its relationship within the organisational culture of luxury services, and hospitality as a major service example.|
You will complete one final project from the options below.
|Dissertation||In this module, you will undertake research to produce a dissertation on a topic related to luxury management. At the end of the module, you will submit a dissertation report. This is the final module in the programme and builds upon what is learnt in the previous modules to allow the opportunity to apply that knowledge through research into a luxury management topic of interest. The main aims of this module are to give you the opportunity to demonstrate your abilities to formulate a research question in your chosen area, to gather and select material to answer the question through critical analysis and evaluation of material, and to communicate the findings by presenting a coherent argument in an appropriate academic style.|
|Live Business Project||In this module you will undertake a business research project, potentially working in collaboration with a company in the luxury sector, on a ‘live’ business issue. You will produce a business research report that includes individual elements about your experiences, and also deliver a presentation to the supervisor, a moderator and a company representative if relevant. You may choose to work alone or in a team, however no more than two students may work together. This is the programme’s major module and it builds upon what is learnt in the programme overall. It is an opportunity to apply the programme knowledge in a real luxury management environment.|
|New Venture Start-Up Project||In this module, you will prepare a plan for starting up a new venture related to the luxury brand management sector. You will produce a start-up project report, which consists of a feasibility research section, a start-up plan, and a reflective report that includes individual elements about your experiences. This is the programme’s major module and it builds upon what is learnt in the programme overall. It is an opportunity to apply the programme knowledge in a real luxury brand management environment.|

If you have not uploaded the relevant supporting documents during the online application process, you should ensure that we have the below supporting documents as soon as you have completed your application.These can be sent to the Regent’s Admissions Department via email to [email protected].
- Copies of academic transcripts and certificates from all university studies (i.e. undergraduate degree)
- One letter of academic recommendation
- A copy of your CV/resumé showing your work experience, if applicable.
- A 1,000 word personal statement outlining the reasons for applying to your chosen programme. This should demonstrate an understanding of a current issue relevant to the subject, how you feel you will benefit from the programme of study, what contributions you will make to the University and how this will help your future career aspirations.
- A copy of your passport photograph (ID) page
- If you are not a native English speaker, proof of your English proficiency
For some of our programmes, the selection process may include an interview. Interviews can take the form of a one-to-one interview or group interview. These are generally conducted on campus but may be conducted by telephone or as a Skype call. Arrangements of these are made between the Admissions Department and the applicant.
Step 2: Receive a response to your application
You can expect to receive a decision on your application within 10 working days of receipt of your completed application and supporting documents.
We will assess whether you meet our entry requirements and will notify you of the decision via email.
Step 3: Accepting your offer
If you wish to accept the offer, please pay the advance tuition fee deposit (non-refundable) to confirm your place.

Closer to the start of the term the Admissions Team will send information regarding the registration process. This will include information on completing your online enrolment prior to your arrival as well as a checklist of documents you will need to bring with you to fully register onto the programme.

What do fees include?
Fees cover the cost of all tuition and access to the University’s IT infrastructure and library learning resources.
What other costs should I budget for?
You will need to budget additional funds for accommodation and living expenses, travel, and any additional trips, visits, activities or courses (such as Summer programmes) that you choose to participate in outside of the tuition offered as part of the programme.
The library hold a limited number of copies of core text books and where possible in e-format. You will be encouraged to purchase your own text books and will need to budget approximately £80-£100 for the year, depending on your programme of study.
When are fees paid?
Fees are payable in the following instalments:
- An initial non-refundable advance deposit paid when you accept your offer of a place
- The advance deposit is allocated against the first term’s fees
- Tuition fees (including fees for subsequent terms) are due two weeks in advance of classes commencing
Additional fee charges
- The University sets tuition fees on an annual basis in line with the University's financial year which runs from 1 August to 31 July
- The fees quoted here are for one academic year of study
- For students starting their programme in January the programme spans two separate financial year accounting periods. Fees for the different teaching terms are calculated separately in line with fees charged in each financial year
- Fees for subsequent years of study are subject to fee inflation
- The University aims to keep annual fee increases in line with the University’s cost inflation. The expectation is that this will be no greater than UK consumer price inflation (CPI) plus 3%. There are occasionally variations to this dictated by the costs of running specific programmes or facilities required for our programmes
- All fee increases are subject to approval of the Trustee Board thus ensuring that affordability for our students remains a primary concern in any decisions regarding fee increases
Teaching and assessment
We balance essential theory with the opportunity to test what you've learned. You'll be encouraged to develop your own skills through assignments and projects that mirror authentic business scenarios. You will be able to work through any questions or challenges with experienced staff.
You'll discuss the unique characteristics of the luxury industry in lectures, seminars, and workshops, and through group and individual tutorials and case study analysis.
Contact hours and expected workload
This programme is delivered through a variety of learning methods, including lectures, seminars, studio sessions and self-guided study. Added to which individual modules undertake site visits to relevant - industry and have guest speakers where appropriate. This varies from module to module, but on average during terms 1 and 2 there are 20 hours per week per 20 credit module and 10 hours per week per 10 credit module.
In Term 3, you will produce a dissertation, which is a 60 credit module. While you will be expected to manage your time, you should expect to spend around 600 learning hours.
Our academics have a variety of experience in the luxury industry, from hospitality, to fashion, and international communications agencies and marketing. Regent's also maintains links with leading brands from around the world, and welcomes guest speakers selling items such as high-end cars, wine and perfume. Alumni also return to help mentor students, sharing their experience as corporate managers or entrepreneurs.
We pride ourselves on a diverse and varied range of teaching staff, many of whom have extensive industry experience relevant to the programme.
All full-time teaching staff for this programme have a postgraduate level qualification relevant to the modules that they teach. Most have also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education.
To ensure that you also have access to the latest trends and experiences direct from industry, we also complement your learning with external guest lecturers. In most cases, these do not have formal teaching qualifications or experience. However, they are selected for their extensive industry insights and ability to share their knowledge with you in an informative and engaging way.

Minimum entry requirements for Level 7 students
One of the following qualifications:
- Minimum second class UK undergraduate degree
- Equivalent international qualifications as deemed acceptable by the University
- Exceptional entry will be assessed on case by case basis by academic referral only based on:
- An undergraduate degree lower than 2:2 plus one year of relevant work experience
- No undergraduate degree but three years of relevant work experience
We also welcome applications from candidates who do not meet the essential entry criteria outlined above. In order to be accepted for exceptional entry, you must:
- Hold a minimum of two years’ relevant work experience
- Provide a 1,000-word personal statement outlining your reasons for applying, and how your previous experience is of relevance to the programme you are applying for
- Be prepared to attend an interview with the Postgraduate Admissions Panel
English Language requirements
We require proof of English Proficiency. For example, we ask for:
- IELTS: Overall score of 6.5, with 5.5 or above in all 4 component parts
- PTE Academic: Overall score of 58, with 51 or above in each individual component
- TOEFL IBT: Overall score 80 (We do not accept TOEFL from applicants requiring a Tier 4 visa, as this qualification is no longer accepted by the UK Visas and Immigration Department (UKVI)
- A-level/GCSE/IGCSE English: grade C / 4 or above (for IGCSE certificates, please provide the Supplementary Certifying Statement with the breakdown of component grades)
- International Baccalaureate: Grade 5 in A1 or A2 English at Higher or Standard Level

Regent's English Proficiency Test (REPT)
We provide an online English diagnostic test known as the Regent’s English Proficiency Test (REPT). This test must be booked in advance. To find out more information and to book a test, please visit the REPT page. The REPT test is currently free of charge.
You will be taught to understand the culture and practices of international luxury businesses. Our students graduate with the confidence and insight to pursue management roles in the industry.
