    This integrated foundation year has been specially designed to give you the introductory knowledge and business skills needed to confidently progress to degree-level study.    

    The foundation year is structured around an entrepreneurial challenge, with modules that introduce the transferable skills you will need at degree level and beyond.  

    Once you have successfully completed your foundation year, you will progress to the first year of BSc (Hons) Business, Technology and Entrepreneurship.

    Your study will prepare you for the future as an entrepreneur or global business leader with a technology focus that can exploit new trends and emerging markets. You’ll be equipped with a deep understanding of core business competencies (finance, marketing, management and innovation) while also learning creative techniques (brand storytelling) alongside critical technical know-how (data analysis and visualisation) – all enabling you to address real work problems.

    You’ll develop professional skills in effective negotiation, collaboration, generating and pitching ideas, whilst honing your personal leadership style. This course will help you become a strategic problem-solver, able to analyse and tackle global business challenges through practical bootcamps and labs with the opportunity to expand your horizons through access to a wide selection of electives.

    How to apply

    Applying to study at Regent's University London is a straightforward process. We have put together some helpful information to guide you through the process. We accept direct applications and there is no application fee.

    That's fine, you can still apply even without your exam results. We can issue a conditional offer without your results. You just need be clear in your application which qualifications you are currently studying for.

    Step 1: Apply

    You can apply in the following ways:

    • Apply online
    • Apply through UCAS (The Regent’s UCAS code is R18)

    If you have not uploaded the relevant supporting documents during the online application process, you should ensure that we have the below supporting documents as soon as you have completed your application. These can be sent to the Regent’s Admissions Department via email to [email protected].

    • Copies of academic transcripts and certificates from all previous studies (i.e. secondary school and/or university certificates)
    • One academic letter of recommendation
    • A 300-500 word personal statement outlining the reasons for applying to your chosen programme, how you feel you will benefit from the programme of study, what contributions you will make to the University and how this will help your future career aspirations.
    • A copy of your passport photograph (ID) page
    • If you are not a native English speaker, proof of your English proficiency

    Credit Transfer

    • If you’ve already studied part of a degree course elsewhere, you may be able apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and join the programme at an advanced entry point. If you’d like to request entry part-way through a programme, make sure you state this clearly in your statement of purpose and provide us with the transcripts and module descriptions for the relevant study.

    Step 2: Receive a response to your application

    You can expect to receive a decision on your application within 10 working days of receipt of your completed application and supporting documents.

    We will assess whether you meet our entry requirements and will notify you of the decision via email. UCAS applicants will also receive official notification via the UCAS system.

    For some of our programmes, the selection process may include an interview or audition. Interviews/auditions can take the form of a one-to-one interview, group interview or portfolio review which may be conducted by telephone or as a Skype call. Arrangements of these are made between the Admissions Department and the applicant.

    Step 3: Accepting your offer

    If you wish to accept the offer, please pay the advance tuition fee deposit (non-refundable) to confirm your place.

    Step 4: After you have accepted your place

    Closer to the start of the term, the Admissions Team will send information regarding the registration process. This will include information on completing your online enrolment prior to your arrival as well as a checklist of documents you will need to bring with you to fully register onto the programme.

    Tuition fees

    £21,500 for academic year starting September 2022 
    £21,500 for the academic year starting January 2023 (Foundation entry – Level 3 entry)
    £22,000 for the academic year starting January 2023 (Undergraduate – Level 4 entry)

    What do fees include?

    Fees cover the cost of all tuition and access to the University’s IT infrastructure and library learning resources.

    What other costs should I budget for?

    You will need to budget additional funds for accommodation and living expenses, travel, and any additional trips, visits, activities or courses (such as summer programmes) that you choose to participate in outside of the tuition offered as part of the programme.

    The library hold a limited number of copies of core text books and where possible in e-format. You will be encouraged to purchase your own text books and will need to budget approximately £80-£100 per year, depending on your programme of study.

    When are fees paid?

    Fees are payable in the following instalments:

    • An initial non-refundable advance deposit paid when you accept your offer of a place
    • The advance deposit is allocated against the first term’s fees
    • Tuition fees (including fees for subsequent terms) are due two weeks in advance of classes commencing

    Calculating fee increases

    The University aims to keep annual fee increases in line with the University’s cost inflation. The expectation is that this will be no greater than UK consumer price inflation (CPI) plus 3%. There are occasionally variations to this dictated by the costs of running specific programmes or facilities required for our programmes. The University reserves the right to alter fee levels.

    Study Period Abroad (SPA)

    Some programmes at Regent’s University London offer an optional or mandatory Study Period Abroad, for one or two semesters. No SPA can be undertaken in the United States.
    A student who wishes to attend an “ineligible” school, which includes any school in the USA, will forfeit all funding from that semester going forward and all current loans will become due with immediate effect.     Teaching and assessment

    Teaching staff

    Our teaching staff represent a diverse range of professional and academic backgrounds, with a large percentage having extensive industry experience. Many are research-active and regularly publish in respected academic journals and at conferences. We are very proud of the global nature of our programme, and our lecturers also reflect this ethos, coming from a wide variety of countries and cultures across the world. In every way, you will feel part of a genuine global family.

    We provide a focused and personal treatment of our students as they progress through the programme. We ensure that students enjoy open lines of communication with lecturers and heads of programme alike.

    All our staff hold postgraduate qualifications in their subject area, and a large section hold PhDs or are studying for one. We also encourage our teaching staff to undertake the Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education.

    Methods of assessment

    You will be assessed through a mix of assessment methods. This includes practical work, essays, presentations, individual and group work, learning diaries, business simulations, project-based assignments, oral and written examinations, assessed discussion forums. Assessment is both practical and theoretical and is designed to ensure that you acquire the knowledge and skills to adapt to a variety of professional environments.

    Entry requirements

    Academic requirements

    A Regent’s education provides you with a high level of personal attention, and this begins from the moment you apply to study with us. We want to understand who you are and what your skills and interests may be – we are interested in your potential, as well as your prior achievements. We review each application comprehensively and on its individual merit, considering all of your skills, interests and attributes.

    Minimum entry requirements for Level 4 students

    One of the following qualifications:

    • Three GCE A-levels at grade A-C
    • 24 points in the International Baccalaureate
    • A minimum GPA of 2.5 PLUS one of the following (applicants with a very strong GPA can be academically referred at the AO’s discretion):
      • three AP tests with an average grade of 3 or two AP tests with an average grade of 4
      • SAT: score of 1100 (550+ in both subjects)
      • ACT with a composite score of 26 (20 in each section)
      • Dual Enrolment and College credits (1st Year) - 30 credits with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
    • Equivalent qualifications as deemed acceptable by the University

    English Language requirements

    English is our language of instruction and we require proof of your English proficiency. 
    You can demonstrate your English proficiency with:

    • IELTS: Overall score of 6.0 with no score below 5.5 in any of the four components
    • PTE Academic: Overall score of 64, with 59 or above in each individual component
    • A-level/GCSE/IGCSE English: Grade C / 4 or above 
    • International Baccalaureate: Grade 4 or above in English at Higher or Standard Level

    *qualification satisfies the English language requirements of the UK Immigration and Visas (UKVI) for non- UK/Irish nationals.

    Regent's English Proficiency Test (REPT)

    We provide an online English diagnostic test known as the Regent’s English Proficiency Test (REPT). This test must be booked in advance. To find out more information and to book a test, please visit the REPT page. The REPT test is currently free of charge.

    Students entering with Recognition of Prior Learning

    If you are joining your programme at an advanced entry point, we require IELTS 6.5 with a minimum 6.0 in Reading and Writing, with no score below 5.5 in any other components.

    This course combines a common set of core business management modules with specialist modules related to this pathway and a choice of electives. 

    If you begin your studies in September, you will undertake a four-year, full-time programme.

    If you join us in January, you will undertake an accelerated three-and-a-half-year version of the course. This accelerated course will see you complete a spring and summer term in your first year, and join the September cohort for the beginning of your second year in the autumn term.

    In the foundation year, all students take the same core modules.

    Business & Management - 22-23 start dates

    Module Title
    Enterprise Challenge This module will help you contextualise your academic learning and understand how it relates to the business environment. In teams, you will launch and run a live business start-up. It will be your responsibility to raise capital, open a bank account, and market and sell a real product or service. This exercise will require you to employ all the personal and professional skills you have gained throughout your Foundation year.
    Mastering Foundational Numeracy This module will teach you how to analyse and present large amounts of data in a clear and informative manner. You will be trained in Excel and learn how to use statistical and mathematical techniques to solve complex equations or transform vast columns of data into summary statistics. These vital skills enable you to exploit data to make informed business decisions.
    Skills for Impact This skills-based module will teach you how to make an impactful impression in both a personal and professional environment. You will learn how to effectively communicate within a business context and efficiently manage work processes. You will also be taught how to source and use reliable sources to identify opportunities and make informed business decisions.
    Working with Others In modern business, the key to being a successful entrepreneur is building and maintaining strong working relationships. In this module, you will learn how to work effectively and successfully with others. Collaborative work will teach you how to identify and use your own and your team-members’ individual strengths to contribute towards team success. You will learn the fundamentals of effective communication, both interpersonal and organisational, as well as developing essential strategies in time management and critical thinking.
    World of Business This module will introduce you to the mechanisms of global business. You will explore key themes including economics, globalisation, market and industry analysis, and threats and risks. You will also gain an understanding of the competitive environment in which businesses operate, and the tools they use to achieve success.

    Year 1

    Core Modules

    BSc (Hons) Business, Technology and Entrepreneurship
    Analytical Tools for Business and Finance The module aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to make effective use of key mathematical and statistical techniques applicable to business, finance and management. The module will develop student’s ability and confidence in the use of numerical, problem-solving techniques, and information technology tools in the context of business and finance to enhance students’ employability.
    Enterprise Bootcamp The enterprise bootcamp will help you think like an entrepreneur exploring topics such as raising funding, crowd sourcing, pitching, problem solving, etc. The module will focus developing an agile leadership style with a tech focus that is action oriented and focused on imagining and creating solutions for the challenges facing the 21st century global leader. You will have the opportunity to draw on and combine the knowledge and skills acquired in other modules at this level.
    Enterprise and Society This module introduces students to the study of entrepreneurship, in its various forms – as in setting up new SMEs, social, or civic enterprises, as well as intrapreneurship – and its impact on society. Students will be encouraged to reflect on the profile of an entrepreneur and how autonomy, agency and social action are linked, in the process of creating business and social value. The module will cover both theoretical aspects – from types of organisation to government regulations – and practical aspects involved in setting up and growing a business, including market research, financial estimations, and marketing. The module will encourage application of those concepts and tools in different scenarios, including social and corporate entrepreneurship, and multi-cultural settings.
    Global Perspectives This is a University-wide common module, which facilitates interpersonal, intercultural and trans-disciplinary learning for all level 4 students enrolled on Regent’s University London undergraduate degree programmes. The module introduces a range of ideas and ways of thinking based around the University’s values, reflected in its learning outcomes. It encourages students to interact with the broader University community, both socially and academically, asking them to cross the physical and intellectual borders of their degree programmes. Global Perspectives aims to increase self-awareness and a sense of global citizenship and prepares students for their subsequent studies by familiarising them with the resources available to meet their lifelong learning needs.
    Money, Budgets and Decisions Business Decision Making is frequent and ongoing and each decision has resource implications. Quite often decision-makers lack financial skills that allow them to assess the financial impact of their decisions. The current module introduces basic concepts and principles of accounting that a business person would need in order to handle business financials and take informed decisions. The module, therefore, extends beyond developing a basic financial mastery into also introducing students to decision making framework. While it explores how decisions are made in general, it predominantly focuses on the practical and functional nature of business decisions from the perspective of financial statements, costing and budgetary policies. By the end of the module, students will be able to use their understanding of business and accounting to ask questions, perform research, and seek out additional information to test alternate solutions.
    Principles of Marketing in the Digital Era Marketing departments within organisations has an increasingly key role in the fast moving, connected world of the digital era. This is largely due to growing competition, advances and changes in technology, fragmentation and proliferation of new media and channels; higher customer expectations warranting better understanding and building long term relationships with customers in order to succeed in market.
    Technology Bootcamp The Technology bootcamp helps you explore foundational competency in coding, data analytics, wireframing and cloud computing in an approach geared for business application. You will have the opportunity to draw on and combine the knowledge and skills acquired in other modules at this level.

    Core Modules

    BSc (Hons) Business, Technology and Entrepreneurship
    Creative Innovation Creativity is the most important factor in the ability to navigate an increasingly complex world and to produce a vision for the future. Truly innovative ideas can create new markets, transform an entire business model and even change the world (think crowdfunding, 3D printing, vertical farming, AI, VR, mindfulness, self-driving cars to name a few of the most recent). Creative Innovations are at the core of changing mindsets and building our future creative, innovative capabilities in society and industry. How do you tell which creative ideas are successful for an organisation? How do we inspire creative, innovative change in others? How do you bring about a culture of innovation? How do you manage them effectively? This module guides students through the exciting world of creativity and innovation. By introducing new ways of perceiving, understanding and approaching these aspects in business settings, we will explore how creativity and innovation can make a real difference to the organisation, market and society. The module incorporates unique hands-on assignments, explore new technologies and targets the personal development of students’ creativity. Students will also participate in exciting opportunities, conferences and speakers that look into the future of creativity and innovation.
    Managing Corporate Communications and Strategic Management This module offers students the opportunity to understand and learn techniques for managing corporate communication in a modern business setting, exploring all aspects of the public relations role within a medium to large company. Through case studies and practical scenarios, students will develop strategic solutions for communications to both internal and external publics. Students will become familiar with essential elements of corporate communications techniques, using traditional and social media channels, presentations, marketing materials and meetings.
    Managing Digital Disruption and Transformation This module aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills to deal with the various critical issues surrounding an organisation’s digital presence. It is also aimed at enabling students to develop various strategies to help organisations to transform and flourish in the modern world. The module will cover areas such as the disruption of digital technologies on business. It will also consider how the use of digital technology enables the organisation to learn and innovate. Students will be required to contemplate how these technologies can empower organisations to adapt to a changing business/technological climate with the necessary creativity to ensure the organisation’s survival. This area of study will include an appreciation of regulatory requirements concerning the use of personal/commercial data, cyber security and the nature of mainstream technological compliance frameworks. The module will encompass the need to accommodate potential threats from the possibility of emerging disruptive technologies and the risks posed by the ever-increasing presence of artificial intelligence.
    Sustainability Current challenges such as population growth and the widening gap between nations, the concerns around water, food and energy security, or the fast-paced environmental changes and loss of biodiversity have become key factors that any informed individuals, and business managers in particular, can no longer afford to ignore. The concepts and tools explored in this module aim to provide the knowledge, skills and confidence to argue the strategic business case for a 21stcentury business mindset, shaped by ethics, transparency, accountability and efficiency, and based on strong and committed attitudes, and operational processes and procedures to champion business agility and resilience, ensure regulatory compliance, improve efficiency, reduce costs and minimize waste and other negative impacts on the natural environment, and engage with stakeholders through collaboration to lead innovative change for meaningful and long-lasting businesses.
    Technology and Creativity Lab The Technology and Creativity Lab provides an open testing space for innovation. It allows you to collaborate to generate fresh and valuable ideas. It challenges you to horizon scan and deploy a range of technologies which address new and emerging problems.

    Year 3

    Core Modules

    BSc (Hons) Business, Technology and Entrepreneurship
    Creative Leadership Creative Leadership is a an inter-disciplinary, reflective and experiential module designed to inspire learners to explore leadership from a holistic perspective as it recognises that leaders interact concurrently with a variety of stakeholders in multiple, complex and dynamic settings. Learners will engage in self-discovery, consider case studies and develop informed perspectives relating to issues of key concern to the topic of creative leadership. The module content is structured around thematic units addressing the changing nature of leadership, communication and confidence building, group synergies and organisational learning, creativity, leaders as futurists and innovators. Personal reflection is a key component of this module.
    Global and Geopolitical Dynamics in Business This module makes the nexus between geopolitics, complexity and business policy. Students examine geopolitical issues confronting the practice of business. They learn to evaluate the situatedness of a business in the global terrain, identify success/failure causes in different markets and consider the forces driving local and global complexity. Using tools that link theory and praxis, they are guided to explore emerging potentials that complex environments and unstable geopolitical structures hold. Lastly students study mega trends affecting civil society, formulate game plans to shape business policy and seek relevance to what corporates need them to be.

    New Ventures in Technology This module presents the opportunity to experience being a 'technology entrepreneur', part of an established global trend that has driven transformations in business and society. You will identify viable opportunities when presented with what others see as barriers and problems. Tech-driven, you will take a progressive and creative approach to business leadership that involves identifying new commercial and social opportunities, generating resources and planning a new venture.

    You will consider technology commercialisation and open source innovation as well as other opportunities.

    With the curriculum leading to this and the Capstone, you will learn from other high-growth, high value and technologically intensive operations, you will hone the skills and deploy the tools needed to start, grow and scale a technology enterprise.
    Business, Technology and Entrepreneurship Capstone Your final project is designed to create an output that can demonstrate your abilities to a potential employer or can be used as the blueprint for your new venture. It will be the opportunity to utilise all of your knowledge within this area.
