What to expect
This course invites you to think critically and creatively about the human mind and behaviour. You’ll explore classic and contemporary psychology, from cognitive and developmental theory to postmodern and cross-cultural approaches, developing a well-rounded, global understanding of people and societies.
As a BA rather than a BSc, you’ll focus on using psychology in real-world contexts rather than purely scientific study. You’ll learn through discussion and debate, case studies and experimentation – working collaboratively with peers to apply theory into practice across workplace dynamics, social innovation and global issues.
Through interactive classes, field trips and live projects, you’ll discover how to connect psychological insight with practical challenges, supported by a high level of one-to-one guidance from psychologists and academics. Industry speakers will link your learning to the world of work – from business and health sectors to creative and humanitarian fields. You’ll also have the opportunity to take a professional placement in your second year and spend a term abroad.
You’ll graduate as a reflective, ethical and globally minded thinker – ready to make a meaningful difference in any people-focused profession. Many students progress into careers in HR, marketing, counselling, education, the NHS and the civil service, or continue to postgraduate study in areas such as clinical, occupational or forensic psychology after completing their MSc Psychology Conversion at Regent's.
