Teaching and assessment
We offer a high level of practical and experiential learning, both on and off campus.
You'll have the opportunity to attend shows, workshops and masterclasses – learning from established directors, producers and industry leaders – and join work placements to put your learning into context, building your professional network. Past students have worked with the likes of the BBC, the British Film Institute and UK Cinema Association.
Teaching staff
On campus, you'll engage in authentic, exciting learning experiences that encourage collaboration and self-expression through role plays, workshops, masterclasses and film screenings.
You'll be taught by working film and theatre directors, writers, actors and production specialists, ensuring your classes are shaped by the most current industry practices.
Our academics have a wealth of awards and experiences – from winning BAFTA nominations to working on award-winning documentaries, screening their work at the Superbowl, developing films in Hollywood and having their own BFI retrospectives to showcase their career highlights.
You’ll also benefit from regular guest speakers – from Hollywood actors to award-winning directors and producers. Past speakers have included directors Francis Anan and Ed Lovelace; writer and producer Vincent Ngo; cinematographer Trevor Forrest; editor Matyas Fekete and casting directors Simone Pereira Hind and Ben Cogan.
Small, highly interactive classes ensure you’ll have a high level of contact with teachers and tutors, enabling you to develop your individual strengths and interests.
