What do fees include?
Fees cover the cost of all tuition and access to the University’s IT infrastructure and library learning resources. Fees are presented for the first level of study which equates to two terms.
What other costs should I budget for?
You'll need to budget additional funds for accommodation and living expenses, travel, and any additional trips, visits, activities or courses that you choose to participate in outside of the tuition offered as part of the course.
The library holds a limited number of copies of core textbooks and (where possible) in e-format. You'll be encouraged to purchase your own text books and will need to budget approximately £80-£100 per year, depending on your course.
Reading lists will be made available to you once you start – books may be borrowed from the library or purchased from a wide range of suppliers at an additional cost.
Throughout the course, a number of study visits will be offered to enhance your learning and experience. These will be advertised in advance and are optional to attend. Costs vary depending on destination and duration.
Some form of equipment for notetaking is required – and we strongly suggest students acquire a laptop. All taught sessions relating to the acquisition of specialist software skills will be within one of our Mac labs using our software subscriptions. We suggest you take out your own discounted student Adobe Creative Cloud licence too, which you can pay monthly or annually. You'll be briefed on our recommended software at the start of term.
There are also computers available on campus for use outside class, and some of these facilities have specialist software available.
The majority of coursework is submitted digitally, but some modules require physical realisation/printing. The approximate cost of printing and production of materials varies from student to student and the module concerned, but you'll have the opportunity to discuss anticipated costs with tutors throughout the module. The quality of realisation does not have a direct impact on academic success.
You may wish to enhance your work by engaging additional resources (e.g., equipment or studio hire), however you're encouraged to discuss your plans with your tutor before doing this.
Specific course costs
During your time on the BA (Hons) Interior Design course, some materials will be provided and some will need to be purchased. You'll be provided with a list when you join. These materials will form part of the essential tools for your studies and future employment.
The following course-related costs are indicative only and may vary according to the nature of the module, project brief and in relation to your specific intentions for each of your projects:
- Level 4 (Year 1) art materials and equipment, model making material and tool costs – approximately £250 per year
- Level 5 (Year 2) art materials and equipment, specialist materials for the 3D and digital fabrication workshop – approximately £300 per year
- Level 6 (Year 3) Final Major Project and Portfolio costs, depending on the individual work generated – approximately between £400 to £500 per year
You'll also be involved in study trips in London, exploring your subject within the city. The costs of compulsory visits to museums and galleries, study trips and site visits in the UK are included in the fees.
When are fees paid?
Fees are payable in the following instalments:
- A non-refundable advance deposit paid when you accept your offer of a place
- The advance deposit is allocated against the first term’s fees
- Tuition fees (including fees for subsequent terms) are due two weeks in advance of classes commencing
Calculating fee increases
- The University sets tuition fees on an annual basis in line with the University's financial year
- The fees quoted here are for one academic year of study commencing in September
- For students starting their programme in January the programme spans two separate financial year accounting periods. Fees for the different teaching terms are calculated separately in line with fees charged in each financial year
- Fees for subsequent years of study are subject to fee inflation
- The University aims to keep annual fee increases in line with the University’s cost inflation. The expectation is that this will be no greater than UK consumer price inflation (CPI) plus 3%. There are occasionally variations to this dictated by the costs of running specific programmes or facilities required for our programmes
- All fee increases are subject to approval of the University Board thus ensuring that affordability for our students remains a primary concern in any decisions regarding fee increases
Study Period Abroad (SPA)
Some programmes at Regent’s University London offer an optional or mandatory Study Period Abroad, for one or two semesters. No SPA can be undertaken in the United States.
A student who wishes to attend an “ineligible” school, which includes any school in the USA, will forfeit all funding from that semester going forward and all current loans will become due with immediate effect.
